Armani is an Italian premium brand founded by Giorgio Armani in 1975, becoming one of the most popular clothing labels worldwide. However, can you answer the question: where is Armani made?
The Italian premium label has so many different sub-brands inside of Armani that some of them are manufactured in different countries. I had a couple of Armani items like t-shirts, shirts, jeans, and jackets that I really liked when I was younger. I don’t own any Giorgio Armani products these days, but if I were to buy something from the Italian brand, it would definitely be a suit.

To confirm, I have decided to review hundreds of product descriptions on the Armani website to verify if the brand lists where the products are made. I also visited two Giorgio Armani stores and some stores that sell Armani products, checking multiple items. So let’s find out where Armani is manufactured.
Where Is Armani Made?
Armani products are manufactured in Italy, China, Tunisia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, and Myanmar.
Armani doesn’t list where its products are manufactured on the product descriptions on its website unless the goods are made in Italy. This isn’t very reassuring, but you have other fashion brands like Ted Baker, Timberland, and Doc Martens that also only indicate the country of origin that is most convenient.
The reason why a high premium brand like Armani states which products are made in Italy, but hides the country of origin of the products manufactured outside Italy, is that Armani wants to be known as an Italian brand that makes products in Italy. This is not true at all since most products are actually manufactured outside of Italy.

People tend to think that products manufactured in Italy (especially in Italy) are better than those made in Asia. My experience says that sometimes this statement is accurate and sometimes totally untrue. It all depends on what each country can replicate successfully and if the brand is making an effort to choose manufacturing sites that provide the primary working conditions.
Since most Armani products are manufactured in Asia, the Italian label will not state that in the product descriptions or anywhere on its website (I have checked the entire Armani website). If you order an Armani item, you will always have the country of origin on the product’s label. The US and EU legislation requires brands to indicate the country of origin of any goods.

All the countries I have listed above are the ones I have found in-store. Keep in mind that I didn’t check every single item in these stores, so I am sure I have missed some countries.
Is Armani Made In Italy?
Yes, Armani manufactures some of its products in Italy.
The fact that Armani is an Italian label doesn’t mean that all products are manufactured in Italy. Other Italian fashion labels like Prada, Gucci, Versace, and Dolce and Gabbana are manufactured between Italy and other countries. In fact, Prada fabricates a lot outside of Italy, which is the same as Armani.

Armani has production centers throughout Italy in regions such as Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont, and Trentino. So naturally, consumers associate all Armani products with to made in Italy. It also seems that most of the Giorgio Armani label products are manufactured in Italy. This label has the most expensive products inside the Armani brand, which makes sense since most are made in Italy.
Consumers don’t mind paying a lot for a brand when the products are manufactured in Italy since they associate that with high craftsmanship, better materials, and great attention to detail. Armani knows that, and that’s why the Giorgio Armani collection is a lot more expensive than the Armani Exchange label. They both target distinct segments and are manufactured in different countries.

Is Armani Made In China?
Yes, Armani manufactures a lot of its products in China.
Premium brands tend to manufacture much more in China than luxury brands. Since Armani is a premium brand, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you anymore, as other premium brands like Gant, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein also manufacture heavily in Asian countries.
In-store I have found more Armani items made in China than in any other country. However, I did realize that most products made in China come from the cheapest Armani labels, like the Emporio Armani, EA7, and Armani Exchange. Therefore, even if the Giorgio Armani label is the most expensive, you can also find some products from this collection manufactured in China. However, in a tiny percentage when compared with the other Armani labels.

Even if Armani is a high premium brand, it still tries to produce fashion items for all pockets and price ranges. To ensure the profit is high and since some prices are low (at least on the cheapest collections), the Italian label needs to ensure low manufacturing costs. That’s why Armani is manufactured in China.
Is Armani Made In Vietnam?
Yes, some Armani products are manufactured in Vietnam.
Many fashion labels have been shifting from China due to political instability. As a result, Vietnam has been the logical first choice in the trade war between China and the USA.
Vietnam has good infrastructures that can successfully copy fashion brands’ production systems. Add that to cheaper wages, materials, and basics like electricity, and Vietnam can increase the profit of a brand by cutting some costs.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see more and more Armani products manufactured in Vietnam and a decrease in made in China items.
