The German brand started as a trademark of the company Sine, but it was so successful that it was incorporated separately from Sine. Jack Wolfskin provides a lot of information on the product description of its products but never the country of origin. So the fact the German outdoor label doesn’t list where its products are manufactured on the product descriptions on its website doesn’t come as a surprise.

This outdoor brand is not the cheapest in the market (or the most expensive), so they don’t want to advertise that most of their products are manufactured in Asia since, for some customers, that’s a deal-breaker. Other brands like Columbia, The North Face, Carhartt, Timberland, and Lululemon do the same.
However, when you click on the transparent supply chain tab (on the corporate responsibility page), Jack Wolfskin provides a list of what countries supply materials to the brand and which manufactures for them.
Jack Wolfskin manufactures a lot more in Asia than in Europe, and it even seems to have one manufacturing site in Germany and two in Italy. I didn’t find any of these two countries when checking labels in-store. In fact, I only found products manufactured in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Cambodia in-store. I did check over 50 different products in-store.
At least Jack Wolfskin is consistent and doesn’t list the products manufactured in Germany and Italy on its website and hides the ones made in Asia like certain brands do (Doc Martens, Ted Baker, and Armani are some examples of that).
If you purchase online, you can check the country of origin when you receive the goods. This is because the EU and US legislations require the brands to tell the country of origin for any imported products when it comes to physical goods.

Brand brands like Jack Wolfskin choose China because they can increase their profit margins. Cheap wages, materials, and facilities are the main reason why China is still the leading manufacturer for so many brands.

Also, when checking Jack Wolfskin items in-store, I have found more made in China than in any other country, which confirms the information provided by the brand on the list of suppliers.

Vietnam seems to be the second biggest manufacturer of Jack Wolfskin products, but on a much smaller scale when compared with China, since this last one seems to have more manufacturing sites than all the other countries together.
Vietnam factories can successfully recreate production systems for fashion brands to produce apparel, footwear, and accessories. However, I didn’t find any apparel products made in Vietnam in-store. I did find some footwear.

Currently, some fashion brands manufacture more in Vietnam than in China. This is because the labor, materials, and facilities costs are cheaper, improving the brand’s profit.

Usually, you can always find a t-shirt made in Bangladesh from any brand you choose, and it’s no different with Jack Wolfskin. This country has specialized in making t-shirts, like Vietnam, with footwear.
