Lululemon is a Canadian sports label that was founded in 1998 in Vancouver. If you live in the US, you probably had a pair of Lululemon yoga pants at some point in your life, and the question you have is: where is Lululemon made?

To confirm, I have decided to review hundreds of product descriptions on Lululemon’s website to verify if the brand lists where the products are made. I also visited two Lululemon stores and some stores that sell Lululemon products, checking multiple items. So let’s find out where Lululemon is manufactured.

You can also check out the best American, Italian, Australian, and British sports brands.

Where Is Lululemon Made?

Lululemon is manufactured in China, Vietnam, the US, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, the Philippines, Colombia, Turkey, Egypt, Peru, Indonesia, Cambodia, Haiti, Thailand, Bangladesh, El Salvador, South Korea, and Mexico.

Where Is Lululemon Made

Lululemon doesn’t list where its products are manufactured on the product descriptions on its website. You can only read “Imported,” which usually means “made in Asia countries.” This is not a surprise, considering Lululemon is a Canadian brand, and most of its products are manufactured in Asian countries. However, Lululemon does provide a supplier list of countries where its products are manufactured.

Lululemon doesn’t own any manufacturing facilities and expresses on its website that “We source our products and fabrics from 26 countries around the world, including the US” You can see that the brand is proud of manufacturing in the US, but let’s check the entire list of independent factories that manufacture for Lululemon around the world:

Vietnam – 26 Factories (Apparel, Accessories, Raw Materials)
China – 17 Factories (Apparel, Accessories, Raw Materials)
Sri Lanka – 11 Factories (Apparel, Raw Materials)
Cambodia – 9 Factories (Apparel, Accessories)
Indonesia – 5 Factories (Apparel, Accessories, Raw Materials)
Peru – 4 Factories (Apparel)
Taiwan – 3 Factories (Accessories, Raw Materials)
Philippines – 3 Factories (Apparel)
US – 2 Factories (Apparel, Accessories)
Turkey – 2 Factories (Apparel, Accessories)
Bangladesh – 2 Factories (Apparel)
Egypt – 1 Factory (Apparel, Accessories)
Colombia – 1 Factory (Accessories)
Haiti – 1 Factory (Accessories)
Mexico – 1 Factory (Apparel)
El Salvador – 1 Factory (Apparel)
Thailand – 1 Factory (Apparel)
Japan and South Korea – ( Raw Materials)

As you can check, there are only two factories in the US and only 19 countries on the list. So the 26 countries they state may be inaccurate, or they didn’t list all the factories.

Also, when I was checking the labels of Lululemon products in-store, the countries I found were China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Peru, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Turkey. I wasn’t expecting to see all the countries above, but finding as many as possible is good.

If you order a Lululemon item online and want to know where it was manufactured, you may have to check the label when you receive the goods. This is because the US and EU legislations require the brands to tell the country of origin for any imported products regarding physical goods.

Is Lululemon Made In Canada?

It’s difficult for me to say if Lululemon still manufactures in Canada or not. When Lululemon was founded, I do not doubt that it may have been manufactured in Vancouver, Canada, but I am not so sure if that’s still the case.

Lululemon states on its website that “We work with best-in-class partners around the world and continue to manufacture in North America, including our very first partner in Vancouver.” However, regarding the supplier list on Lululemon’s website, Canada doesn’t appear, which is strange.

I also see many websites stating that Lululemon manufactures in Canada, but none provide any evidence (no labels with Made In Canada information). I can see a few made-in-Canada labels on google, but I can’t confirm if they are fake ones or not.

However, since I didn’t find any Lululemon items made in Canada when I checked labels in-store, I can’t be 100% sure if the company actually manufactures there or not. Canada Goose is a Canadian fashion brand that manufactures in Canada.

Is Lululemon Made In China?

Yes, Lululemon manufactures part of its apparel and accessories in China.

Is Lululemon Made In China

I have to be honest and say that I barely found any Lululemon items manufactured in China when checking the labels in-store. I was surprised because I thought I would find many more Lululemon made in China. I mainly found accessories like hats, water bottles, and gloves.

It shouldn’t surprise me because I know many fashion brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Skechers, New Balance, and Timberland have shifted their manufacturing from China to other Asian countries.

This is due to the tariff war between China and the US and because these brands don’t want to be so dependent on one country. If something happens to that country, brands could lose the ability to produce stock and lose millions in revenue due to not having products to sell.

Lululemon manufactures in China because it’s cheaper than manufacturing in Canada and other North American and European countries. This way, the Canadian label can increase its profits since the costs are lower.

Is Lululemon Made In Vietnam?

Yes, Lululemon manufactures many of its products in Vietnam, especially apparel and accessories.

Is Lululemon Made In Vietnam

Vietnam is the perfect destination for many fashion brands manufacturing their products. In an interview, Calvin McDonald, Lululemon’s chief executive, said, “A third of our global sourcing does come from Vietnam, so we are definitely in the market.”

Vietnam factories can successfully recreate production systems for fashion brands to produce apparel, footwear, and accessories. I have mainly seen footwear brands shifting their manufacturing to Vietnam. However, apparel-focused fashion brands like Lululemon have increased their manufacturing in Vietnam.

After all, Vietnam has been named the number one country for emerging Asian economies as a manufacturing possibility over China, according to a study led by Natixis SA. Currently, many fashion brands manufacture more in Vietnam than in China. This is because the labor, materials, and facilities costs are cheaper, which improves the profit for the brand.

Where Does Lululemon Get Their Cotton?

Lululemon wants to source 100% of cotton from more sustainable sources by 2025. The brand says it sources Pima cotton from Peru and the US on its website, but none of these two countries are on the raw materials supplier list. I assume the rest of the cotton comes from countries on the official Lululemon list of raw material suppliers, like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South Korea, and Japan.

Conclusion On Where Is Lululemon Made

Where is Lululemon made? Mostly in Vietnam and China, but also in many different Asian countries. The brand loves to state they manufacture in North America. Still, apart from the two factories from the US that are stated on their supplier list, I don’t have any proof that Lululemon actually manufactures there since I didn’t find any labels confirming it.
