Kenzo is a French brand founded in 1970 and owned by the LVMH Group, including Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Dior, and Givenchy. Kenzo is also known for its iconic Tiger logo, which you can see printed on several brand products. But do you know how to answer the question: where is Kenzo made?

The French brand (I thought it was Japanese due to the founder’s name, but I guess I was wrong) merges Japanese and European influences in its designs and construction. But does that means the brand is Made in France, Japan, or Europe?
To find out where Kenzo is made, I have checked hundreds of product descriptions on Kenzo’s website to verify if the brand lists where the products are made and researched a lot online to bring to these conclusions. I also visited El Corte Ingles (it has a Kenzo department) and checked multiple items. So let’s find out where Kenzo is manufactured. You can also check out the best French, British and American luxury fashion brands.
Where Is Kenzo Made?
Kenzo is mainly made in Portugal and China. The French brand also manufactures its products in Italy, Tunisia, Turkey, Vietnam, Spain, France, Romania, Bulgaria, and Madagascar. I did find some random items made in Slovakia, Hungary, and Belgium.

Usually, luxury brands don’t like to tell people where their items are made unless it is “Made In Italy,” but Kenzo has no problems stating where the products are manufactured on its website (even the “Made In China” that many try to hide), and I love that. I like brands that are fully transparent when it comes to their manufacturing.

To make it easy for you, this is what I have found in my research of hundreds of different Kenzo products for men, women, and kids online and in-store:
China – Menswear, Womenswear, Children’s Clothes, Sunglasses, Hats, Caps, Belts, Backpacks, Bags, and Gloves
Portugal – Menswear, Womenswear, and Footwear
Turkey – Some Children’s clothes, Scarves, T-shirts, and Dresses
Italy – Most Scarves, Knitwear, one Shoe, and Sweatshirts
Vietnam – Caps, Belts, Backpacks, Bags, Footwear, and Wallets
Tunisia – Some Children’s clothes, Trousers, Shirts, and Dresses
Spain – Footwear
France – Fragrances
Belgium – One Scarve
Bulgaria – Trousers, and Shirts
Romania – Trousers, Shirts, and Jackets
Madagascar – Jackets, and Dresses
Hungary – Few Jackets
Slovakia – One Jacket
Bear in mind that I didn’t check every single product on Kenzo’s website and the same in-store, so I could have missed some countries, but I would say I have reviewed most of them.

Most Kenzo products seem to be made in Portugal and China, but I have to say that I didn’t find any “Made In China” items in Kenzo’s department store in El Corte Ingles. However, I did find many “Made In Portugal” and some “Made In Italy.”
Is Kenzo Made In Italy?
Yes, Kenzo is made in Italy for scarves, knitwear, a few shoes, and some sweatshirts.
I have to say I am a bit surprised that Kenzo barely manufactures in Italy since it’s common to see luxury brands produce most of their products there.

The “Made In Italy” label is perceived as having excellent quality, craftsmanship, and the best products. This can explain why Kenzo is cheaper than some other luxury brands like Versace, Gucci, or Dolce and Gabbana.
I am also surprised that Kenzo doesn’t manufacture anything in France (apart from its fragrances) and Japan. Usually, brands always make something in their country of origin or the founder’s country of origin.
Is Kenzo Made In Portugal?
Yes, Kenzo produces most of its products in Portugal, from menswear, womenswear, and footwear. Polos, t-shirts, and sweatshirts seem to be the most popular items manufactured in my country (I love when big brands make their products in Portugal).

Most Kenzo clothes “Made In Portugal” are manufactured by the company Luís Azevedo & Filhos, in Brito, Guimaraes, in the North of Portugal. This same company produces for brands like Balenciaga, Dior, and Burberry.
Apart from Italian luxury brands that prefer to manufacture almost all their products in Italy (remember the power of that label), many brands are making their products in Portugal, so it’s widespread to see “Made In Portugal” on these expensive labels.
The reasons are that Portugal’s labor is cheap (not as cheap as Asian or African countries) and presents excellent quality products and materials. I wouldn’t be surprised if more luxury and premium brands changed their manufacturing to Portugal.

Is Kenzo Made In China?
Yes Kenzo produces most of its products in China, including menswear, womenswear, kidswear, sunglasses, caps, hats, backpacks, bags, belts, and gloves.
As I said, I am a bit surprised that Kenzo manufactures many of its products in China and almost none in Italy (something rare for a luxury brand but typical for high-end ones). For example, Balenciaga splits its production between Italy and China.

Fashion brands manufacture their products in China because the labor and materials are cheaper, so the profits are higher when selling the products. However, I do believe Kenzo could be more expensive if it was manufactured in Italy.
