Under Armour is one of the biggest sports brands in the US, especially among football players, but not so much in Europe. However, the question you have is: where is Under Armour made?
I have always been a big fan of Adidas, Asics, and Nike. Yet, this American sports brand always passed under my radar. Only when I moved to the United Kingdom did I purchase and try my first Under Armour t-shirt. After all, I was selling Under Armour products, and I had to know the brand before selling to customers.

I have reviewed hundreds of product descriptions on Under Armour’s website to verify if the brand lists where the products are made. I also visited a couple of Under Armour stores and some stores that sell Under Armour products, checking multiple items. So let’s find out where Under Armour is manufactured.

Where Is Under Armour Made?
Under Armour is manufactured in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Jordan, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.
Under Armour doesn’t list where its products are manufactured on the product descriptions on its website. Instead, the only information they provide is “imported,” which means the brand doesn’t want you to know where its products are manufactured. The same happens with Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Converse, Vans, and Skechers.

Under Armour and other big sports labels don’t want you to know where their products are manufactured because most consumers perceive products made in Asia as cheap and low quality. In addition, consumers don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for something they think is not worth it. That’s why the countries of origin of a product are not listed in the product description, and you have the famous “imported” there.
However, when you receive your Under Armour sneakers (if you purchased them online) or check them in-store, you can read where they are manufactured. The US legislation and EU rules require the brands to tell the country of origin for any imported products regarding physical goods.
Under Armour states in its Fiscal 2021 year report that the brand manufactures in 18 countries, and approximately 67% of its apparel and accessories are manufactured in Vietnam, China, Jordan, Cambodia, and Malaysia. However, it doesn’t say anything about where the shoes are made.

In-store I have checked many different Under Armour products and styles, but I only found nine countries, which means I didn’t discover half of those countries, and Under Armour manufactures in small quantities in some other places.
Is Under Armour Made In The US?
According to my research, Under Armour doesn’t currently manufacture anything in the US. However, in 2016 the brand opened the UA Lighthouse manufacturing center in Baltimore, which provides designers, developers, and external partners the freedom and tools to develop, build and push new products and concepts.
It’s difficult to say if this manufacturing center in Baltimore manufactures to sell or if it’s only a place that fabricates to test the products and then shows the production sites in other countries the process to repeat the creations.

The only entirely made-in-US collection manufactured in the UA Lighthouse manufacturing center in Baltimore was the Arris Project which consists of bras and leggings. Apart from this collection, I couldn’t find any other Under Armour products made in America.
Is Under Armour Made In China?
Yes, many Under Armour footwear, apparel, and accessories are manufactured in China.
Under Armour relies heavily on China to manufacture its products since the labor and materials are cheaper here than in Europe or the US. However, in the last few years, the American sports brand has shifted its product manufacturing away from China to Vietnam and some other Asian countries.

The American sportswear label is making plans to source only 7% of its production from China and rely less and less on the country. This is also due to the tariff war between the US and China, which leaves brands in a very uncertain position if something happens and the manufacturing completely stops, unable to fulfill their needs.
Also, when checking Under Armour items in-store, I have to say I expected to find most of the goods to be manufactured in China, but that didn’t happen. Under Armour seems to have a balance between four/five countries that manufacture about the same quantity for the American brand.
Is Under Armour Made In Vietnam?
Yes, many Under Armour footwear, apparel, and accessories are manufactured in Vietnam.
Vietnam has become the selected destination for footwear brands, as labor and materials are cheaper than in China, and there is also better political stability. So, if something happens in China, Under Armour knows it can count on Vietnam production to avoid disruptions. However, UA is extending its manufacturing to other countries, not China or Vietnam.
Vietnam factories have strongly created an adaptable production system for fashion brands that want to create apparel, footwear, or accessories.
In-store I found loads of shoes manufactured in Vietnam (more than in any other country), but I also found all different types of products, including accessories and apparel. But I have to say that Under Armour diversifies more outside of Vietnam and China than other sports brands.
